GG - ¿Decides hacerte plastic artist or was un sueño a child? And if so, when you decide to become a painter?

AL - It was something I decided or dreamed to be. I am always struck by the art in all its forms and feel that it was not me who chose to be, I chose and took me to find different ways to express what I feel and think. It just came a time in my life when I could not put it off more. I always enjoyed painting since childhood, but it was difficult for me then.

GG - Did you have any early influence over the arts?

AL - Influence!. no, but very young I was always curious about the arts, was something I was very attracted to, not sure it was, but I wanted and had to find out.

GG - Do you think the painter, born or made?

AL - I think you're born for the arts, and is thus more than one look the way you can better express what you feel and think.

GG - How did you learn the techniques you use?

AL - In the workshops of Alfredo-Lefort, a realist painter Chile and the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, School of Art.

AL-Pastel, Watercolor, Acrylic. How do I start a painting? .. In Cake, working with a model in a photo shoot for motion, contrast, light and shadow with an idea of chemistry between the model and the camera is between her and me, as a game, a flirtation, a idea of conquest. In Watercolor and Acrylic, I draw on concepts, ideas, thoughts, emotions, etc. On this, study the psychology of colors that have meaning and movement ideas. GG-

In your career what teachers have influenced you, and which you most identify?

AL-Salvador Dali and Jackson Pollock as the principal, then they are, Matta, Braque, Turner, Tobey, Kiefer, Hartung, Gray, Bellmer, Maffei and Bravo, to name a few.

GG - Do you need to have a technique for painting, or otherwise anything goes?

AL - I think anything goes when expressed, while it is well used, but it is good to have some studies to later discard the technique and be one against the support you are using.

GG - When you choose paint, which prefers bases and materials?

AL - depends on what I paint, whether it is a nude, pastel on paper, if it is an abstract idea, acrylic on canvas.

GG-How do you feel about the effects materials?

AL - Seduction of them to me, sensuality.

GG - How do you develop, from the art, a work?

AL - Using the knowledge of colors, materials, know how to use and how to put on the stand that you use to get what I mean.

GG - How do you achieve such perfect projection of your paintings to the naked use models or is it all in your imagination?

AL - Working with models, photo shoots, with a set of moves, then the figure drawing pictures or just paint directly on paper, as a kind of visualization of the work on paper and human figure studies, proportions, perspective, light and shadow, etc.

GG - How to achieve the perfection of the mystery and reality?

AL - In a game of light and shadow, perspective and proportions on paper.

GG - How do you translate something as difficult as sensuality, pain, etc., In a Play?

AL - is sometimes unconsciously, by the willingness to confront the material and other work behind the work to get to paint, art, express what you want to accomplish and all that she hides behind the image, that makes you take time to observe and discover that else is there besides what you can obviously see. GG-

color do you prefer to express yourself?

GG - Do you work only to painting and think that you give the time you'd like? AL-

several things and I feel I do not give the time I would like, but that's life.

GG - What other activities do you do?

AL - Studies, Tai Chi, music.

GG "I see that in addition to Pastel painting using acrylic, which I have personally observed that they are endowed with magic. I am particularly interested in one, which I buy! If the on sale of course! When did you start caring about acrylics?

AL - In a time of change in my life, looking for other forms of expression through painting, seeking to express it another way, what I think and feel, with a different style. Regarding the acrylic Of course you care if it's yours.

GG - Thanks. Do you think that your works catch our attention for the technique or the image?

AL - I feel that the main idea is to express, not to draw attention to technique or image, but to get the message reaches the viewer.

GG - You think you're getting a full experience of your career as an artist?

AL-I feel that yes, in part beginning again and become more aware of myself and everything around me.

GG - How do you feel when your work is finished and ready to be exposed?

AL-feel that is part of me in it, I wanted to express what I feel and think.

GG - Do you think your art are contributing to something in your country or contemporary Latin American painting?

AL - I hope so ...

GG - What do you think, now, the cultural landscape in the world of painting?

AL - There is everything, but I think it necessary to give the importance it deserves.

GG - Does the Chilean public how to respond to the exhibitions of your work?

AL - I've had very good reviews about my previous work, nudes in pastel, like much but it's difficult to sell, in Chile the public is a bit reluctant to bare, however artistic and these are good and there is little culture in regard to having an original work, prefer copies or prints of great artists.

GG - This also happens in other countries, especially Latin Americans. Maybe they are the fears of what others think we carry since we started to have the use of reason, the education received at home ...
How are the showrooms in Chile?

AL-Yes, I think there is much truth in what you say ... To answer your question I will tell you that there are many galleries, but not many works that expose new artists, exhibiting works of authors prefer to already established and known. The environment is quite closed to that effect.

GG - Have you exposed somewhere else outside of Chile? And if so, in what country would you like to present and why?

AL-No, I have not had a chance, but I hope that what I'm doing and some future projects, to do so. There are several countries where I would like to make, both in Latin America and the United States and Europe. In Latin America, in Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, because they are countries that have a different view of art and artists. In the United States because it is the biggest step, if all goes well, and consecrate you as an artist, this will open many doors for other parties to expose your work. In Europe, in Italy, France and Spain, because they are the cradle of art and every artist is to achieve as an artist and person.

GG-Any projects in the short and long term?

AL-A short-term exhibit in Chile in some important galleries that I make known, publish my Web page on the Internet to make known my work worldwide. In the long run to live in what I do as an artist, painting, music, design etc.

GG - A wish? Any illusion?

AL - A desire to achieve my goals and short-and long-term and find a place in the world to live, be happy and work on what I like painting, music, design, etc.. Then

GG I wish you luck, it is sometimes difficult to find that perfect place, but remember that everything is in the fair value we place on things that really interest us.

AL. Thank you GG
